Zoe Wees Shares Her Inspiration Behind Her New Song "Traitor"
Released on January 17th, singer/songwriter Zoe Wees put out her new single “Traitor”. The impressive song sees Zoe seize an opportunity to speak-up about prioritizing self-appreciation with a healthy dose of honesty delivered by her otherworldly vocal. You can expect the same heart-on-the-sleeve lyricism paired with a voice that has demanded attention from the first moment as an artist as she moves into what she considers phase 2 of her work. She explains, “Traitor is about being fearless. We all deserve to be appreciated on a human level, and if the only way to achieve that is by cutting out that negativity then that’s the way to go. I hope this song gives the people that feel the same way the power to filter those people out of your life and find their own equilibrium again.” In conversation with Clique, Zoe shares that “Traitor” was inspired by some of her past friendships that she has outgrown. There was a moment where she suddenly saw them in a different light realizing they’re not with her for who she is, and I realized she was just wasting her time and her heart spending time with them.
