Devon Again Shares About Her New Single "All My Fault"

"All My Fault" is a newly released stunning single by Devon Again. She had a super super annoying realization that she was in charge of her own life and most of the hurt she was feeling was no ones fault but her own. Now more than ever she is trying to re-train her brain into treating herself better and doing what she can to not fall back into old patterns. It’s so hard to keep growing and not resort to what’s comfortable, and “all my fault” is what came out of her little cyclical panic about whether or not she will just continue to sabotage herself. In conversation with Clique, Devon shares that the process of making this song just seemed to come so naturally and it really taught her to just not overthink things because more often than not the initial gut instinct/ idea is going to be super sick. She describes the song as a sneaky sexy, scary, sad, song about how she is the only person in charge of her life.

CLIQUE: What does it feel like to have your single All My Fault out now?

DEVON: it feels like i gave birth. I love this song, she's my beautiful little baby and I hope she has a really wonderful life.

CLIQUE: What was your inspiration for the single?

DEVON: My tendency to self sabotage :)

CLIQUE: How would you describe All My Fault?

DEVON: A sneaky sexy scary sad song about how I am the only person in charge of my life

“All My Fault is the least literal lyrically and also the most musical of the songs I have out. This song took the longest to get to a spot where i really felt like it was done.”

CLIQUE: What makes All My Fault different from the rest of your music?

DEVON: All My Fault is the least literal lyrically and also the most musical of the songs I have out. This song took the longest to get to a spot where i really felt like it was done,

CLIQUE: You also have a music video for the single. What was the process of creating the music video like?

DEVON: I had found the director if the video Clyde Munroe a while back on instagram and had asked her to shoot a video for a different song, That ended up falling through so I was really excited when I found out we were going to be able to make the AMF video together, the actual shoot was two days and was very fun and calm and kept to a tiny crew. The DP Emerson Duggan and 1st AC Jordan Pollak were so precise and wonderful and fun it was just a great time. My Mom also happened to fly out and got to be in the video and on set the whole time we were filming which was so special.

CLIQUE: Did you have a lot of creative control over the video?

DEVON: Yes yes. Praise Clyde for dealing with me.

CLIQUE: Where do you hope to see yourself in five years with your music?

DEVON: This question makes my bones hurt, but really I want nothing more than to keep making shit I love and hopefully people love it enough to listen.

“Making this song made me so much more comfortable experimenting musically and just seriously reinspired me to keep learning.”

CLIQUE: Did you learn anything about yourself as a musician while making the single and its music video?

DEVON: I learned so much!!!!! Making this song made me so much more comfortable experimenting musically and just seriously reinspired me to keep learning. The process of making this song just seemed to come so naturally and it really taught me to just not overthink things because more often than not the initial gut instinct/ idea is going to be super sick.

CLIQUE: Who is a musician who you would love to collaborate with in the future?

DEVON: If i'm REALLY reaching, i gotta say like, Dominic Fike, Still Woozy, Teezo Touchdown. Remi Wolf. Oh the list goes on

CLIQUE: What do you have coming up?

DEVON: Some music that ive been holding onto for a FAT second that i can’t wait to push out!!l like a bunch of babies!!!
