Winter Must Needs For My Purse
This has been one of the coldest weeks ever, by far. As somebody who loves going out and about no matter the circumstances, this week has been a brutal one. My trips outside have become less frequent, shorter, but yet I'm bringing double the amount of things I normally would. The contents of my bag are always changing depending on the season, but in winter my bag is at its biggest and heaviest. The things I keep in my bag are essential for my quick trips outside, and every single thing in my bag is getting used.
One thing that is always in my bag year round is a camera. Lately I have been into the Kodak disposable cameras, but I also keep a digital one in my purse as well. I love photography, and I think when you live in a city like Philadephia there is so much to document. Also it is something super fun to use when I am with friends no matter where we are.
The amount of medicine I keep in my bag during the winter is excessive. You would think I am a doctor. It ranges from Advil, to migraine pills and mucinex. Personally, I feel so much more achy, and stuffy during the cold months so keeping items like that in my bag comes in clutch not only for myself, but my friends as well. We are always going through tissues, and cough drops so those are always getting restocked. Moreover, it is so much more common to get sick in the winter, so it is always nice to be prepared just in case. Hand sanitizer is also a must. With living in a city and taking public transportation multiple times a day it is so important to disinfect your hands.
Aquaphor is another thing that I use all the time in winter. My lips and skin are always chapped and flaking due to the cold weather and wind. Having this available always makes me feel a little more put together and less self conscious about the way I look. If I happen to forget to put aquaphor in my bag I also keep a travel sized moisturizer in there as well. On a similar note I also keep hand lotion in my bag as well. My hands are always dry due to the cold and wind so having this always helps.
Gloves and hand warmers are a must. Especially when I am on my longer journeys outside. I always have a beverage in hand whenever I leave the house, so making sure I have a pair is crucial. Not only do I have a pair that allows you to use your phone, but I also have a pair of leather ones. Both of them are functional in different ways, and the leather ones are thick, keep my hands super warm and they are also chic. Hand warmers become useful when I am wearing the thinner phone screen gloves.
I also keep so many year round essentials in my bag. Ranging from sunglasses, to gum, travel size perfumes and deodorants. You never know what you are going to need when you go out, and personally I am okay with overpacking. I also have a mini notebook that I use for work, as well as pens, headphones and even a portable phone charger. This comes especially handy in winter, as my phone battery drops quicker in the cold weather.
What a girl keeps in her purse, is a reflection of who she is. It’s one of the most unique and simple ways to get a glimpse into their life. Sure, my bag may weigh like a brick in the colder season, but I am always prepared for whatever situation I may find myself in. Based off of that, I think it says alot about who I am.
