How to Achieve Your Goal for that Yearly Glow-up

How to Achieve Your Goal for that Yearly Glow-up

Change doesn’t always have to be the dramatic, life-altering news we see on social media. Sometimes, it comes in the form of little efforts of self-improvement. Whether it be fixing the routine of your sleep schedule or learning how to relax without thinking about work. Change can be for the better even if it goes unnoticed by most.

However, why not make that grandiose impact this year? Bring a change to your life that shines and has people turning heads in the best way possible! The best part? You don’t have to break the bank or your back to make it so!

Here are some natural yet effective methods on how to make that “new year, new me” look happen!

Cleansers and Moisturizers

Washing your face can do wonders for your mental health. Not only does it improve your physical appearance, but it will bring positive changes to your skin’s well-being.

Not to be intimidated by the number of viral skincare trends that use over twelve different skin care products. All you need are two key products to bring out your inner glow. For first-time users, I recommend The Ordinaries Facial cleanser and moisturizer, as it’s not only made with clean ingredients, but it’s not thickly layered or heavily coated in overwhelming fragrances.

Increasing Vitamin C Intake

We’ve all had that big glass of orange juice whenever we feel the familiar scratch in our throats. Vitamin C is well known to provide aid to our immune system, but did you know it also gives us a natural glow for our skin, hair, and even nails?

Vitamin C provides collagen (a protein that gives strength and elasticity), hydration, and brightening. These are improvements you can find in the forms of serums, hair masks, natural oils, cleansers, and even moisturizers. You won’t see immediate effects, but with time and dedication, you and others around you will start noticing the brighter differences to your former appearance.

Please note that some vitamin C products can be harmful if not applied correctly, such as using a serum right before going out to sun exposure. They can cause burns and irritation if not used carefully, and if you feel these symptoms, cease usage immediately and consult a dermatologist to safely navigate what works best for you.

Makeup Glow Tints

While makeup may not be for everyone, there is a charm to applying a light tint to your skin, and here’s why.

Glow tints are well known for their dewy appearance and hydrating ingredients.  They are easy to blend, and the application is lightweight, so it hardly looks like you’re wearing anything at all! You can find glow-tinted products at your local drugstore or beauty supply chain. They come in SPF applications, bronzers, and serums.

Jelly Nail Applications

Jelly nails have been quite popular in Asian culture for some time now due to their elegantly natural yet eye-catching appearance.

They come in different shades and undertones, but unlike the usual application of nail polish, they are sheer and require more time to build and apply. However, your efforts will not go unnoticed, as the end justifies the means with its fresh appearance and lasting coat.

Under eye brighteners

Going back to the usage of makeup, an under-eye brightener is made to do just that! The name is very self-explanatory and to the point, but the results are very gratifying as they bring light to your dark circles.

They come in the forms of creams, serums, and putty mixes, most containing unusual colors that are meant to blend in with the usual concealers and foundations. However, for non-makeup enthusiasts out there, eye brighteners are perfect for improving thinning skin and uneven tones as they mainly contain Vitamins K and C, both used to help blood circulation and minimize natural shadows.

Exercise Routines

Exercise doesn’t always have to be done with the end goal of losing a pound or two. It’s not the easiest of tasks for some, and I admit I am one of them. Thankfully, it doesn’t have to be a chore that has you sweating bullets and leaving you sore for days on end.

It’s ok to take things slow. Perhaps take the time to do a few stretches after getting out of bed. Try to touch your toes a few times and reach for the sky as high as you can. When you feel comfortable to take the next step, try a couple of crunches, maybe even a few sit-ups or pushups. On nicer days, take a brisk walk after breakfast, admiring the environment around you. A little certainly goes a long way.

Keeping your body moving at your own pace will reward you with a sense of energy that you might have never thought possible!

These are all guaranteed key elements to making sure you show your very best as you embrace the changes of the new year! What results are you looking forward to noticing as you work your way through this list? Have you seen them already? Be sure to share your story with others and spread the glow!
