Which SOUR Song You Are Based Off Your Zodiac Sign

The cold winter month of January is never an ideal time to experience heartbreak. It gets dark at 5 PM, gloomy days of grey skies linger on for weeks, and the excitement of the holiday season is freshly washed away and replaced with real life. While most Januarys tend to get most of us in our feels, January of 2021 was especially emotional. On January 8, 2021, Olivia Rodrigo released her debut single, "driver's license." This heartbreaking song about the loss of a first love quickly attracted worldwide attention. The tune instantly went viral and ignited the first spark of Olivia Rodrigo's badass solo career. 

For those who aren't familiar, Olivia Rodrigo is an 18-year-old actress who is known for her role as Nini Salazar-Roberts in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. While on set, she started dating her co-star, Joshua Bassett. If you've ever listened to "driver's license," I don't need to tell you how that relationship worked out. The situation is sticky, but as told by the song, she was heartbroken and betrayed when he started dating fellow Disney actress, Sabrina Carpenter (the apparent "blonde girl" in the song). Once this first single came out in January, the love triangle was put under a microscope and analyzed by the public. While we didn't know exactly what went down, we would soon learn more about Rodrigo's perspective from her debut album, SOUR, which was released May 21, 2021. 

In just under 40 minutes–34 minutes and 46 seconds, to be exact– we are exposed to all the emotions Rodrigo appears to have been going through during her breakup ordeal. Tear-jerking memories of a relationship that once was are poetically expressed in "happier" and "deja vu." On the flip side, "good 4 u" and "brutal" are powerful tracks that emanate confidence and carefree energy. Practically any emotions you can think of, she's got you covered. 

We can obviously see that Olivia has been going through the whole nine yards, but what song fits you best? If you love them all but can't find one to relate to specifically, you can simply check your zodiac sign to see what song embodies you the most:

There is no better song to describe a Pisces than "hope ur ok." A piece focused on the well-being of others + Pisces = a match made in heaven. 

Aries (March 21- April 19) - "brutal"

As a fire sign, it only makes sense to match you with a powerful and animated track. Aries is the first astrological sign of the zodiac, and this track is the first song off the hit new album. Besides that similarity, this song has a catchy beat and a forceful vibe that will leave you feeling ready to speak your mind in any situation. Aries' can be fiercely intense and passionate about their beliefs, and sometimes the world doesn't always see things the same way. As Olivia blatantly puts it, "God, it's brutal out here." Indeed, it is. 

Taurus (April 20- May 20) - "enough for you"

As an Earth sign, you are very realistic and always give your best shot at everything you do. You are caring and try to see the best in others. This song revolves around the desperate desire to be enough for someone. The chorus line, "Cause all I ever wanted was to be enough for you," hits us right in the feels. The lyrics are tear-jerking and will have you on an emotional rollercoaster. 

Gemini (May 21- June 20) - 1 step forward, 3 steps back

Have you ever given your all to someone but felt like you were getting nowhere? In this beautiful piano ballad, we get a glimpse into the frustration Rodrigo endured during her romance. This soft and gentle song is right up a Gemini's alley. This sign is known to be affectionate, and there is no lack of affection in the line, "it's one step forward and three steps back, and I'd leave you but the rollercoaster's all I've ever had." There is no doubt this song will resonate with every Gemini. 

Cancer (June 21- July 22) - "traitor"

It would have been wrong to associate this sign with any other song. If "traitor" doesn't make you think of a Cancer, I don't know what will. Cancer characteristics of being sensitive and loyal are perfectly mirrored in this track about betrayal. The painful lines "yeah, I played dumb, but I always knew" and "I kept quiet, so I could keep you" hit way too close to home, Cancer. If you're going through a heartbreak...maybe skip this one.

This pairing is a no-brainer. Take a fiery Leo personality and mix it with a sarcastic song about being happy for your ex, and voilà! This track emanates all Leo traits from passion all the way to being headstrong and dynamic. The lyric "good for you, you look happy and healthy, not me, if you even cared to ask" exudes major Leo energy. If you watched the music video, you'll see the scene of her lighting a room on fire, and Leo is a prominent fire sign. Coincidence? I think not. 

Virgo (August 23- September 22) - "favorite crime"

Do you know someone hardworking and practical but always kind? Chances are, they are a Virgo. The story of a loyal, loving, and ride-or-die partner is told in "favorite crime." Her line "I was your willing accomplice, honey...I hope I was your favorite crime" tells us all we need to know about how her relationship came to an end. Libra (September 23- October 22) - "deja vu"

While Libras are highly social and outgoing, they won't hesitate to carry a grudge. If this doesn't remind you of "deja vu," what are you thinking? This song, which was the second single from the popular album, shows that Rodrigo is not shy when it comes to being bitter. The lines alone "that was our place, I found it first, I made the joke you tell to her when she's with you" spell out exactly the sort of resentment that was going on, and I'm sure many Libras can relate to that sentiment. 

Scorpio (October 23- November 21) - "happier"

This track and those born under the Scorpio sign have a few things in common: they are passionate but can have an intense jealousy streak. While the title looks like it could be a joyful song, don't let it deceive you. "Happier" talks of wishing happiness on an ex-lover, but as long as they're not better off than they were with you. As Rodrigo so beautifully puts it, "I hope you're happy but don't be happier." We can see the resemblance between you two, Scorpio. 

Sagittarius (November 22- December 21) - "driver's license"

You're in luck, Sagittarius. You got the debut single! Sagittarius' can be generous but will not hold back in speaking their mind. The tale of "driver's license" goes as follows: an excitement over a blossoming relationship that soon turned into heartbreak and broken promises. Rodrigo's heart-rending line, "guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me, cause you said forever now I drive alone past your street," pulls right on the heartstrings. Maybe take this song as a sign of caution, Sagittarius. Guard your heart, and don't trust so easily!

Capricorn (December 22- January 19) - "good 4 u"

Good for you, Capricorn! (Pun intended.) You get the only repeat song. Don't worry, that doesn't mean you're any less special. You are disciplined but can be very unforgiving and condescending at times. There is no better song for you on SOUR than "good 4 u." This song is sarcastic and has a hint of edginess to it. The opening line, "well good for you I guess you moved on really easily," is a dig at those who hurt her most. Go ahead and blast this song, Capricorn.

Olivia Rodrigo is no doubt a force to be reckoned with. The way she swooped into the music scene and took the industry by storm shows just how much power she holds. SOUR has only been out for a little over a week, and it's already topping major charts. Maybe the reason why it's so popular (besides her incredible talent) is because there's a place for everyone on SOUR. The album explicitly spells out any possible emotions over a relationship.
