Upcoming Spring 2022 Fashion Trends
The start of each season marks the emergence of new fashion trends. That is not to say, however, that each season requires purchasing all new clothing. This article highlights five upcoming spring trends that you can most likely seamlessly incorporate into your current wardrobe. Learn about all five, then decide for yourself which one(s) match your vibe and will stay in your wardrobe not just for this spring season, but for the foreseeable future.
LARGE BAGS
This trend is possibly the most practical of the trends. Perhaps the biggest appeal of large bags is the space available for storing your necessities. Micro purses can’t even fit a phone, while large purses can store your laptop, water bottle, makeup, deodorant, change of clothes, and pretty much anything else you can think of. This trend is perfect for you if you’re always on the go and need to bring a lot of your essentials with you.
BRIGHT COLORS
What better way to celebrate the end of a dark winter than with bright, colorful clothes? This spring is all about color. Not sure where to start? Here are some trendy color combos to try out this spring:
● pink & orange
● pink & green
● green & blue
● lilac & orange
PLATFORM SHOES
Over the past few seasons, we have been seeing this trend of platform shoes emerging. This spring, everything platform is in. If your style is more casual, opt for some platform Converse. If you love to dress up, Steve Madden released some stunning platform heels that are perfect for a night out.
OVERALLS
Overalls are less of a trend and more of a timeless piece, but nevertheless you will be seeing a lot more people wearing them this spring season. Classic denim overalls are a great basic to add to your wardrobe. If you’re looking for a more unique pair, try upcycling your own by adding iron on patches or sewing squares of fabric to the overalls.
BALLET-INSPIRED PIECES
Now this trend is very niche. A subcategory of the girly aesthetic is the ballerina aesthetic, which includes pale pink hues, thin cardigans, and, of course, ballet flats. If this aesthetic
appeals to you, Zara recently partnered with the New York City Ballet to create a ballerina-inspired collection. While the designs are inspired by ballerina costumes, the clothing can be enjoyed by dancers and non-dancers alike.
If any of these upcoming trends sparked your interest, explore ways you can incorporate those pieces into your current wardrobe. The point of fashion isn’t to follow trends, but rather to be inspired by them.
