Taylor Swift Announces New Album Midnights and I Can’t Sleep
PSA for all Swifties- Taylor Swift has finally answered our call for more music, and the countdown begins now. Swift is known for being the reigning queen of “sad girl autumn,” and she has decided to ring in the season with some new music this year. Although fans had been expecting the singer to announce to release of another one of her re-recordings, possibly 1989 or Speak Now as she recently released her re-recorded versions of Fearless and Red), Swift surprised us.
On August 28, at the VMAs, after winning an award for her short film music video for her song “All Too Well (10-minute version),” announced that she will be releasing a new album called Midnights on October 21, 2022. The album will feature thirteen new songs, and according to the singer’s Instagram and Twitter posts, will be highlight “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life.” Midnights will be the singer’s 10th studio album and will mark the first release of entirely new music since December 2020 when she released her album Evermore. Following the announcement, the response from fans has been overwhelmingly positive.
As a lifelong Swiftie, I could not be more excited to hear some new music in just a little over a month. You can pre-order vinyl or CD editions of Midnights on Swift’s website.
