Summer Book Recommendations

Summer Book Recommendations

Summer isn’t just about swimming in a chilled pool, tanning for hours, and drinking margaritas... well it kind of is. However, it’s the perfect time to kick back, relax, and read a book.

Don’t sit inside and watch television to pass the time, instead, sit outside in the sun, with your butt in a chair, and read. You can still have your margarita, I promise.

To all my fellow bookworms, you may love these books, or you may hate these books. But, you’ll never know until you read it.

Here are my summer 2022 book recommendations:

Verity by Colleen Hoover

This novel is a captivating, romantic, psychological thriller. Once Hoover grabbed the reader’s attention on the first page, there’s no stopping. This book is incredible and unexpected, and it will keep you wanting more.

The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller

Heller expertly constructs an image of Elle and the predicament she faces as the story alternates between the present and the past, recording a succession of pivotal incidents in her life. Heller writes a vibrant and compelling novel about the complexities of love and marriage in captivating writing and with deep emotional understanding.

A House Between Earth and The Moon by Rebecca Scherm

A novel based on the climate change hypothesis, this story depicts the richest billionaires living on the moon while the rest of the world suffers on an environmentally burned Earth. "A House Between Earth and the Moon" is a fascinating novel about the operations of big tech as well as a wonderfully intimate reflection on the bonds that keep people together.

The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley

In Lucy Foley's latest novel, "The Paris Apartment," the suspects are a creepy apartment building and its tenants. "The Paris Apartment," a thriller with brief chapters recounted by individuals full of secrets, quickly draws the reader in and keeps them engaged with expectations.

We Do What We Do in the Dark by Michelle Hart

This narrative stands true to its title; its significance is hidden in the shadows. "We Do What We Do in the Dark" is a novel about coming out as a human, not simply as a gay woman. Mallory is sharing her experience, accepting her passion, and, by extension, herself.

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

While "It Ends With Us" is not a romance novel, it is a love story. It's a love story about putting oneself over someone they love; it's about choosing to halt a cycle of violence that harms more people than it benefits. This book showed me how women in domestic abuse situations may feel split between someone they are committed to and walking away.

Book Lovers by Emily Henry

"Book Lovers" is a lovely story about the relationship between sisters and being the star of your own life. Emily Henry creates well-developed, interesting characters. Nora was personable, hilarious, and kind. Emily Henry examined in a genuine and sympathetic way how far someone could be ready to go to assist their younger sister to achieve happiness.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

"The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo," marketed as a historical fiction novel set in ancient Hollywood, is a must-read not only for the bookworms but for everyone looking for a new book to grow attached to. It's difficult not to fall in love with Taylor Jenkins Reid's multi-dimensional characters, including Evelyn Hugo, who admits her mistakes before anybody else.

22 Seconds by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro

James Patterson's novels are all fantastic, action-packed thrillers. "22 Seconds" kicks off immediately and doesn't slow down until the last page. The narrative revolves around new gun control laws, which spark citizen rallies, a Mexican drug gang, murder, and crooked cops. It's a highly intriguing read.

All the Things We Don't Talk About by Amy Feltman

This is a queer family drama that follows a varied range of individuals whose lives are turned upside down by the sudden presence of their self-destructive mother; coping with betrayal and addiction as well as LGBT love and joy.
