Coachella Festival Fashion 2022
The third weekend of April was significant, not just because it was Easter weekend but because it was Weekend 1 of Coachella! While Coachella is known for its killer lineups of talented musicians, this festival is also heavily associated with fashion. Coachella goers dress to the nines and the festival grounds look more like a fashion show than a desert landscape.
We all remember the 2010s era of Coachella fashion- floor length lace cardigans, crochet tops, denim shorts, body chains, flower crowns, and body glitter. In this new decade, a new era of Coachella fashion is among us. With 2022 being Coachella’s first year back since 2019, attendees went all out with their looks. Curious what trends and articles of clothing were popular during this first weekend of Coachella? Keep on reading for the festival fashion 411.
COWBOY BOOTS
Everyone’s favorite festival footwear this year was cowboy boots. While Coachella rarely features country music artists, cowboy boots were everywhere. These shoes were paired with dresses, shorts, and matching sets. White cowboy boots in particular were having a moment.
COW PRINT
Going along with the cowboy theme, cow print was a very popular pattern at Coachella this year. Brown and white cow print pants were the “it-pant.”
THE COLOR ORANGE
All the baddies at Coachella this year wore orange; it’s just a fact. Orange is a tough color to style, yet everyone at the festival who wore orange 100% pulled it off.
PATTERNED SETS
2022 has been the year of patterned sets, so naturally many Coachella goers donned colorful, fun, patterned sets. Matching pants and crop top combos were particularly popular. As far as the patterns go, swirl designs and checkered designs were fan favorites.
BEADS IN HAIR
The go-to accessory this year was not a belt bag or body chain, but rather beads. Beaded hairstyles were having a moment, with many festival goers wearing braids with small, round beads looped through the hair.
BANDANAS
The other Coachella accessory that everyone seemed to wear was a bandana. Attending a music festival in the desert means you will have to endure an uncomfortable amount of dust flying around. The best way to protect yourself from inhaling this dust? Wear a bandana!
